Scotland vs England: Oldest Rivalry in World Football to be Celebrated in 150th Anniversary Heritage Match
Scotland and England will write the latest chapter in the oldest and fiercest football rivalry in a milestone celebration match later this year.
The two home nations are commemorating their 150-year-old rivalry with a special friendly event in Glasgow scheduled at the site of FIFA’s initial recognized international match.
In 1872, England and Scotland played their first match at the West of Scotland Cricket Club in Glasgow, with a draw of 0-0 and a crowd of 4000 fans. Today, with 114 matches contested between them, the rivalry continues in the form of a 150th Anniversary Heritage Match.
When is the Scotland vs England Heritage Match?
The soccer game is scheduled on Tuesday, September 12, with kick-off at Hampden Park at 7:45 pm.

Gareth Southgate, the England manager, said, “Any meeting with Scotland is always special. I imagine, though, that this occasion will be even more memorable as it celebrates such a landmark moment.”
