After Leicester exit, Tottenham advised to recruit ‘remarkable’ Brendan Rodgers who could ‘bring James Maddison alongside him’

Why Brendan Rodgers Should be the Next Manager for Tottenham

After leaving Leicester City by mutual consent following a seven-game winless run, Brendan Rodgers is now available for hire. And according to talkSPORT pundit and ex-Crystal Palace star Darren Ambrose, Tottenham Hotspur should be the first in line to pounce on the Northern Irishman.

At present, Tottenham is managerless after Antonio Conte left following a sensational rant at his players and employers. For Spurs fan Ambrose, there is no one better suited to the job than a man who previously went close to winning the Premier League title while at Liverpool and who picked up an FA Cup with Leicester along with two trebles at Celtic.

“Brendan Rodgers plays the type of football and the style that Spurs supporters like,” says Ambrose. “Maybe it is time for a new voice at Leicester, but bring [James] Maddison along to Spurs with you and they’ll be absolutely flying.”

With Rodgers being third favourite behind Julian Nagelsmann and Vincent Kompany on the bookies’ list to replace Antonio Conte, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can woo the Northern Irishman to take up the mantle at North London.
