Bayern Munich Split over Julian Nagelsmann: Reports Suggest Seven Stars including Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry in the ‘Out’ Camp

Bayern Munich has caught the headlines for all the wrong reasons following last week’s decision to sack Julian Nagelsmann. Despite being just one point off the top in the Bundesliga table and winning all eight Champions League matches this season, Nagelsmann was ruthlessly dismissed on Friday. His replacement, Thomas Tuchel, was unveiled the following day, but reports indicate the club’s decision could cause more harm than good. According to German publication BILD, the squad is ‘split’ with some players in the ‘pro’ Nagelsmann camp, and others against him. Seven players reportedly wanted him out, including Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry. Others, including Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich, were supporters of the young coach. Bayern remains in the title race and the Champions League, and Nagelsmann’s departure has come as a surprise to many. Bayern Munich’s decision to sack him could result in the club paying an overall package worth 70million euros (£62m).
