Championship promotion at stake: Nine Premier League teams at risk of relegation

The Battle for Premier League Survival: Can Bournemouth and Southampton Escape Relegation?

With only eight matches left to play, the Premier League relegation battle is heating up. Currently, Bournemouth and Southampton are anchored in the bottom two spots, but can they avoid the drop? The competition is fierce, with only four points separating the 12th place team from the bottom-placed Southampton. This is the lowest gap ever recorded at this stage of the Premier League season.

Gracenote analyzed the stats and calculated the percentage chances of each team avoiding relegation based on their remaining fixtures. According to their prediction, a total of 39 points will guarantee Premier League survival. However, BBC Sport wants to hear from you. See what percentage chance each team has of surviving and share your thoughts with us.

Crystal Palace, who sit in 12th place, have not won since 2023, which led to the dismissal of their manager. New boss Roy Hodgson has been tasked with keeping them in the division, but eight of their remaining matches are against teams in this relegation battle.

Wolves, currently in 13th place, has their third manager of the season, Julen Lopetegui. They have secured five league victories, including wins over Liverpool and Tottenham, which has lifted them out of the bottom three. Wolverhampton Wanderers has the worst finishing record in the league, only scoring from 6% of their goal attempts.

Meanwhile, Leeds United, who barely survived on the last day of last season, finds themselves in another relegation battle. With matches against Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle, and Tottenham, they need to pick up wins quickly to avoid relegation.

Everton, who have been in the Premier League since 1954-55, are only two points above the relegation zone. Their results have improved since the arrival of Sean Dyche as head coach, but they still have to face top-half teams in six of their remaining ten fixtures.

Nottingham Forest, in their first Premier League season since 1998-99, has signed 30 players in an effort to stay in the top flight. They have only scored 22 goals this season and face a challenging fixture list with matches against Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

Leicester City, who had a fantastic season last year, made a terrible start to this campaign. They have six remaining matches against their relegation rivals and only three against top eight teams.

The fight for Premier League survival is tighter than ever, and with only eight matches remaining, every point is crucial. Who will make it out alive and who will be relegated to the Championship? Share your thoughts with us.
