Stay ahead of the game with Transfer Talk! The January transfer window may be closed, but the summer promises to be a hotbed of transfer activity, and we’ve got all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings, and done deals in the world of football.

TOP STORY: Chelsea duo Mount and Kovacic set to depart

Chelsea is bracing itself for a big summer shake-up, with owner Todd Boehly keen to raise funds for further signings. Flagship names in the firing line to be sold include two key midfielders: Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic. With both players’ contracts expiring in 2024, Chelsea is looking to secure transfer fees worth over £100 million.

While Mount, who is reportedly seeking a new contract that reflects his role at the club, has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Kovacic is hoping to be transferred for a profit. The Croatian midfielder signed for £40 million from Real Madrid in 2019 and has since played over 200 games for the Blues.

PAPER GOSSIP

Internazionale and Napoli could be in with a chance of securing Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita, with the 28-year-old struggling to consistently make his mark since coming from RB Leipzig in 2018. With Keita’s contract due to end this summer, Liverpool might not offer him an extension.

– Arsenal is reportedly preparing to offer West Ham United more than £100m for their midfielder, Declan Rice. The Gunners are keen to add a midfielder to their squad and are hoping to edge out rivals Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool for the signature of the England international.

– While Barcelona and Inter Milan are keeping tabs on ex-Arsenal talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, it seems Chelsea may not be willing to deal with their Spanish counterparts following his support of the Catalans during El Clasico earlier in the month. Meanwhile, the Catalan club is rumored to prefer Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva over his teammate Ilkay Gundogan, largely due to cost issues.

– Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram is a hot prospect, with both Inter Milan and Juventus eager to sign him on a free transfer this summer. The young winger is keeping his options open as he decides on his future.
