Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is calling on the club to do everything in their power to retain their “unsellable” midfielder Mason Mount, who is currently on the radar of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.

Mount, who has been with Chelsea since he was a child, has been in protracted contract negotiations with the club, sparking rumors of a possible exit. Schwarzer believes that this would be a significant loss to the team, as Mount is an exceptional player who is loved by the fans.

Despite this interest from other clubs, Chelsea should attempt to keep Mount, Schwarzer said. He explained that the midfielder is a “phenomenal player” who is “a Chelsea kid through and through.” Reports indicate that Mount is seeking a salary comparable to that of his England teammate Raheem Sterling, who earns £300,000 per week.

The former Chelsea boss and current Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is also reportedly interested in acquiring Mount. This raises the stakes for Chelsea, whose chairman Todd Boehly may need to sell players to ensure Financial Fair Play compliance.
