Bayern Munich Eyes Chelsea Star Mason Mount on a Cut-Price Deal as Thomas Tuchel Hopes to Reunite with the England Midfielder
As Bayern Munich looks to dominate in the next season’s competitions, they reportedly set their sights on Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount as a possible addition to their squad. New Bayern boss and former Chelsea head coach, Thomas Tuchel, is said to be keen on a reunion with the 24-year-old player, who was an integral part of Tuchel’s Champions League-winning squad in 2021. Despite lengthy contract negotiations with the Blues, Mount’s future in west London remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire next summer. Bayern Munich is hoping to take advantage of this contract impasse and sign the player on a cut-price deal, with competition from Liverpool and Manchester United for the talented midfielder. Chelsea may also be obliged to sell off players to stay in line with Financial Fair Play regulations, which may force them to let go of Mount, who they value at £50 million. Meanwhile, Tuchel is also looking to bring in Chelsea’s assistant coach Anthony Barry to Germany, who wants to follow the German boss to the Bundesliga champions.
