Get Ready for Euro 2024: Germany Set to Host 24 Countries for Flagship UEFA Championship

Football fans, get ready for Euro 2024! Germany is set to host the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, where 24 countries will compete for the prestigious title. The tournament will kick off on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the iconic Allianz Arena in Munich, and the matches will run until July 14, 2024, at the 70,000-capacity Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Italy will defend their title, after beating England on penalties in the finals of Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium. But with the competition rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the World Cup suspended until last winter, the international football calendar is more condensed than ever, making way for Euro 2024.

The tournament will feature 51 games, with the top two teams from each group and four best third-placed teams progressing to the round of 16. The knockout rounds will follow until the ultimate final, where the world-class Olympiastadion in Berlin will play host to the nail-biting game.

But that’s not all! You can also look forward to a fantastic rail network that will connect the ten stadiums across Germany. Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park and Schalke’s Veltins Arena are just two of the spectacular stadiums that will host the matches during the championship.

Set to be held in June and July, the Euro 2024 matches will take place in a weather-friendly season when the temperature ranges from 16C to 22C, even ensuring that the weather shouldn’t be a problem for players or fans. The opening match at Allianz Arena will kick off at 9 pm CEST, with the semi-finals and final all set to kick off at 8 pm UK time.

Qualifying for the tournament will see twenty teams from the ten groups automatically qualifying for the Euros, with the other three teams selected via the playoffs. Be sure to check out the qualifying groups to see who will join Germany in the tournament!

Germany earned the right to host Euro 2024 over Turkey, thanks to its outstanding infrastructure, minimal work required ahead of the tournament, and a straightforward selection process. Are you excited to support your team in the Euro 2024 championship? Don’t wait for the action to start, plan your trip to Germany now!
