Despite controlling the game for long periods through some excellent attacking play, England were unable to get the better of a stubborn Croatian defense, who held firm to secure a deserved victory.
The highlight of the game for England was undoubtedly the stunning strike from Eberechi Eze, whose long-range effort gave the home side a glimmer of hope late on. However, it was too little too late as the visitors had already scored twice and put the match beyond England’s reach.
The young Lions will need to regroup ahead of the tournament and work on finishing their chances to ensure they are ready to take on the best in Europe. With the likes of Mason Greenwood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jude Bellingham in their ranks, England has the talent to go all the way in the championship.
