Vincent Kompany Emerges as Key Candidate for Tottenham Manager Position
Following the recent sacking of Antonio Conte, Tottenham is now scouring for their new boss, and Vincent Kompany has emerged as a leading contender.
According to The Sun, the Burnley boss would be interested in taking the Tottenham job, and he currently stands with real appeal in North London. The club has been exploring different options, but Kompany’s inclusion adds a renewed interest to the search.
After leaving Manchester City, 36-year-old Kompany started his managerial career with Anderlecht in 2019. He has since impressed in his first managerial role in England, with the Clarets dominating the Championship with their exciting, attack-minded game style. This approach to the game would undoubtedly go down well with Spurs fans, particularly following the pragmatic approach taken by Conte.
According to the report, Kompany joins Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Marco Silva, and Thomas Frank on the shortlist. Despite recent comments from Pep Guardiola on Kompany’s prospect of returning to the Etihad Stadium as manager in the future, Tottenham is keen on securing his services.
