Leeds United forced to close stadium due to security threat
Leeds United, the Premier League club, received a security threat to the premises and were asked to shut down their Elland Road stadium on Friday until further notice. The West Yorkshire Police carried out an investigation as a threat was made via social media on Thursday. The club’s statement said that the police advice led to the closure of Leeds United’s offices, ticket office, Foundation offices, and club shop at Elland Road. The statement also apologized for any inconvenience and promised to inform the public when the normal service resumes.
Meanwhile, West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the security threat, and investigations are ongoing.
