Everton Referred to Independent Commission by Premier League for Alleged Breach of Financial Rules
The Premier League has referred Everton to an independent commission over alleged breach of Profitability and Sustainability rules (FFP) for the 2021/22 season, where the club narrowly avoided relegation.

Last year, Leeds United and Burnley wrote to the Premier League questioning whether Everton had broken any rules after recording losses of £371.8 million over the previous three years. The alleged breach could result in a fine, transfer restrictions, or points deduction.
A statement from the Premier League said the commission would be independent of the Premier League and member clubs. The proceedings would be confidential and heard in private, with the final award published on the Premier League’s website. Everton also released a statement strongly contesting the allegation and is confident that it remains compliant with all financial rules and regulations.
