John Terry wishes Frank Lampard well as he returns to Chelsea as caretaker boss

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has wished Frank Lampard good luck as he takes on the role of caretaker manager until the end of the season. Lampard returns to Chelsea after being sacked at the end of his first spell as Blues boss. Terry and Lampard enjoyed a lot of success together on the pitch, winning three Premier Leagues, four FA Cups, and a Champions League in their 14 seasons together with the Blues.

Fans have been calling for Terry to join Lampard’s backroom team, with some saying they “need Terry on the sideline as well”. Terry has revealed that the Chelsea job is the only one he would take, admitting he would come out of retirement for it.

Lampard led his first training session on Thursday, with players seeming pleased with his appointment. Lampard said returning to the club where he has achieved much of his success was an easy decision for him. The Blues will next play against Wolves on Saturday, followed by a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
