Bournemouth climbs out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Fulham
Bournemouth’s comeback 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Vitality Stadium helped them climb out of the Premier League relegation zone. Andreas Pereira opened the scoring for Fulham in the 16th minute, but a sensational strike from Marcus Tavernier in the second half levelled the score for Bournemouth. In a nail-biting finish, Dominic Solanke’s bundled goal in the 79th minute – via an Antonee Robinson deflection – sealed the win for Bournemouth.
The victory sees Bournemouth rise to 15th and move one point above the bottom three with ten games to play. Fulham remains ninth, three points behind Brighton in eighth place.
What’s next for both teams?
Bournemouth
Next up, Bournemouth faces Brighton in a south-coast derby on Tuesday night, followed by matches against Leicester and Tottenham on the following two Saturdays at 3 pm.
Fulham
Fulham’s next three fixtures are against more relegation-threatened sides. They host West Ham at 3 pm next Saturday, travel to Everton the weekend after, and then welcome Leeds to Craven Cottage on April 22.
