Barcelona may welcome back Lionel Messi as the vice-president Rafael Yuste said the club is in contact with the Argentinian forward.
With 672 goals in 778 games, Messi is Barcelona’s all-time top scorer; the 35-year-old left the Nou Camp for financial reasons in 2021.
Although his two-year contract with Paris St-Germain expires this summer, Messi prefers staying with the French club.

Meanwhile, Yuste said, “Leo and his family know the affection I have for them.”
What ended Messi’s storied spell at Barcelona, where he won four Champions Leagues and 10 La Liga titles, was a new financial rule stating that the club could only retain him if they sold players first. Unfortunately, there was not enough time for the club to sell players, thus ending Messi’s era at Barcelona.
Yuste expressed his regret, saying, “I participated in the negotiations which, unfortunately, did not lead to a certain result.”
“I’ve always had this thorn in my side that Leo couldn’t continue at our club.
Despite the circumstances, Yuste expressed his affection to Messi, “Messi knows how much we appreciate him. I would love for him to come back. We’re in contact, of course, with them.”
With 29 goals in 66 games for PSG, Messi recently claimed his 100th international goal and his 800th career strike.
