Liverpool welcomes back ‘best player’ Luis Diaz to training alongside Darwin Nunez ahead of Man City test.

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz Returns to First-Team Training After Injury Setback

Colombian winger Luis Diaz is back in training with Liverpool after recovering from a serious knee injury which has kept him out of the first team since October. Diaz was a key player for the club last season, and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler believes he was their best-performing player prior to his injury. Diaz’s return is a significant boost for Liverpool as they aim for a top-four finish this season, although they face tough competition from Tottenham and Manchester City.

Fowler has praised Diaz’s performance for Liverpool before he was sidelined by his injury, calling him their best-performing player.

“When you think of Liverpool this year, Sadio Mane was a massive loss for Liverpool but the man who was brought in to replace him has arguably been their best player, before he got injured,” said Fowler to BettingOdds.com. “He scored goals, he was big on the assists, unfortunately, he got injured but that’s football for you. And when you are building teams, you can’t really depend on one player, that should be the same for Luis Diaz.”
