After a massive 4-1 win against Liverpool at the Etihad, a Manchester City fan allegedly threw a brick at the coach of their Merseyside opponents, which resulted in a cracked window. Earlier in the season, when Manchester City suffered a 1-0 defeat at Anfield, their own bus was targeted by Liverpool fans.

The Athletic confirms that Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into this shocking incident. Despite this, Manchester City FC has condemned the attack on Liverpool’s team bus and stressed that it will fully support the authorities in their investigation. During the game, some Manchester City supporters sang “inappropriate chants” directed towards the Liverpool fans, which the club stated was totally unacceptable. Further, they will work with supporter groups and officials from both clubs to eradicate hateful and intolerable behavior from this fixture.

The incident has not drawn any public comments from Liverpool FC.

City thrashed Liverpool 4-1 at the Etihad in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
