Mick McCarthy and Terry Connor DEPART from Blackpool football club through mutual agreement.


Blackpool Manager, Mick McCarthy, has left the club after just 14 games in charge. McCarthy departed by mutual consent following a 3-1 defeat against Cardiff. Stephen Dobbie has taken over as temporary manager to steer the Tangerines away from Championship relegation. Blackpool currently sits six points from safety with six games left to play.Currently, Blackpool struggles for results, which led to the decision to end McCarthy’s contract. He won just two of his 14 matches as manager, drawing three and losing nine. McCarthy stated, “After recent performances and results, I have thought long and hard and feel this is the best decision for everyone concerned with the football club.”Former Blackpool player, Stephen Dobbie, will take charge of the club for the rest of the season, assisted by Matt Blinkhorn and Steve Banks. McCarthy wished the club well for the future and appreciated the support given to him during his tenure.
