England’s Defender Millie Bright Forced to Withdraw from Friendlies Against Brazil and Australia Due to Knee Injury

England’s defender Millie Bright, who played every minute of England’s successful Euro 2021 campaign, has withdrawn from England’s friendlies against Brazil and Australia scheduled on 6th and 11th April due to a knee injury suffered in their Champions League first leg against Lyon last week. Chelsea’s defender missed her team’s last two games as well.

Her replacement in the squad is Arsenal’s Lotte Wubben-Moy, who was a part of England’s Euro 2022-winning squad but missed out when Sarina Wiegman named her squad for the Brazil and Australia games this week.

England’s last scheduled fixtures before next year’s World Cup are crucial, and it will be interesting to see how the team performs against the South African championsfirst and then in the game against Australia. Both games will be played in England, which adds even more pressure on the team to perform well on home turf.
