QPR’s Manisha Tailor: Timeline featuring South Asians in Football can motivate future generations of female players | Football News

QPR’s Manisha Tailor believes that an exhibition showcasing 20 current and former female football players from South Asian backgrounds can help inspire the next generation of girls from the same community to pursue a career in football. Sky Sports, in partnership with Sporting Equals, created a timeline documenting the modern-day history of South Asian heritage female players in the English game. Tailor, who is the first South Asian woman to hold the role of assistant head of academy coaching at QPR, features in the timeline and sees the display as proof of what is possible for girls from South Asian backgrounds in the “Beautiful Game.” The showcase includes visible role models that can aid young girls in believing that it’s possible to build a career in football, which will break unseen barriers and offer them the pathway to success.
