Pep Guardiola confirms Erling Haaland’s return for Manchester City’s Premier League game
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has announced that Erling Haaland is fit and ready to play in their upcoming Premier League match against Southampton on Saturday. The game will air live on Sky Sports.
Haaland missed City’s win against Liverpool last week due to a groin injury. However, he returned to training earlier this week and is now available for the St Mary’s Stadium match.
Guardiola said, “Erling trained the last two days, really good. He will be ready.”
Guardiola stated that he is not thinking about managing Haaland’s minutes in preparation for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich next week.
“Bayern Munich is the last thought. It’s Southampton. The Premier League is every day, every week,”
Haaland has scored an impressive 42 goals in 37 games in all competitions for City this season, including six hat-tricks. The Norwegian forward currently leads the Premier League Golden Boot race, six goals ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
