Thiago Almada’s absence was felt by the Atlanta United as they suffered a crushing 6-1 defeat to the Columbus Crew. Meanwhile, new boys, St. Louis City, continued their winning streak with a 4-0 thrashing of Real Salt Lake, making them the standout story of the MLS season so far. Sporting Kansas City faced off against the Seattle Sounders, with Jordan Morris leading his team to a 4-1 victory after scoring all four goals, putting him at the top of Major League Soccer’s goal-scoring race. Meanwhile, Martin Ojeda had a goal and an assist for Orlando City, ending Philadelphia Union’s 13-match home-winning streak with a 2-1 victory.
