“Son Heung-min of Spurs achieves remarkable feat as the first-ever Asian player to score 100 goals in Premier League”

Tottenham’s Son Heung-min becomes the first Asian player to hit 100 Premier League goals

In a historic moment for Asian football, Tottenham’s South Korean star Son Heung-min scored his 100th Premier League goal against Brighton on Saturday. The forward’s trademark curler with his right foot from the edge of the area broke the deadlock just 10 minutes into the game.

After sharing the Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the last campaign, Son has had a tough season and even admitted his role in the departure of former boss Antonio Conte. Despite this, his Brighton strike brought up a special milestone for the 30-year-old.

Currently in his eighth season at Spurs, Son becomes the first Asian player to score a century of goals in the Premier League, cementing his place as one of the competition’s elite players. He is also the second Tottenham player after Harry Kane – with 205 goals – to reach the century mark and only the 34th player in Premier League history to do so.
