What’s more remarkable is that Schumacher will have the support of one of his formative mentors, Neil Dewsnip, who was not only his P.E. teacher at Cardinal Heenan High School, but also his coach at Everton’s Academy. Dewsnip has since become Plymouth’s Director of Football and has been instrumental in Schumacher’s appointment as Manager.

Their bond is unique in the world of football, and their mutual respect is obvious. Schumacher feels privileged to have Dewsnip’s wise counsel at his disposal, but it’s clear that he’s not afraid to push back when needed! The two are now eagerly preparing for a showdown against Bolton in the Football League Trophy, in front of 40,000 passionate fans.
