Mykhailo Mudryk: Is the Ukrainian Winger Chelsea’s Future Diamond?
Since swapping Shakhtar Donetsk for Stamford Bridge in January for a deal of up to £88million, 22-year-old Mykhailo Mudryk is yet to live up to expectations, leaving the Chelsea faithful frustrated. The club expects great things from this Ukrainian winger, but for now, he has failed to deliver, being goalless from his nine Chelsea appearances so far.

Shakhtar CEO Serhiy Palkin, however, has urged Chelsea to be patient with the young player, calling Mudryk a ‘unique boy’ with ‘unbelievable technical characteristics.’ Though he might not have shown his talent in the Premier League so far, Mudryk has been described as one of the most promising young footballers in Ukraine.
Ex-Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has also supported the club’s decision to buy Mudryk, stating that the youngster is part of the club’s ambitious project, and that he’s in good hands. The decision to get him right now was down to how much the club believes in his talent.
