Thomas Tuchel Interested in Reuniting with Chelsea Coach Anthony Barry at Bayern Munich
New Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to bring his former Chelsea colleague, assistant coach Anthony Barry to the German giant. Tuchel has taken over the reins of the club, replacing Julien Nagelsmann, and wants Barry to be part of his backroom staff. Barry, who is now with Stamford Bridge’s team, initially joined Chelsea as part of Frank Lampard’s backroom staff. Tuchel worked with Barry during his tenure at Chelsea, and the two coaches helped deliver a hat-trick of trophies for the club. Tuchel rated Barry ‘extremely highly’ and would be interested in working alongside him once again, as per The Telegraph.
Barry has also worked on the coaching teams for both the Ireland and Belgium national sides and now works part-time with Portugal. He could, therefore, see a reunion with Tuchel and would be in line with his trusted coaches, Zsolt Low and Arno Michels. Bayern Munich currently stands second in the Bundesliga table, one point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund. If they beat Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals, Tuchel and Barry could make a return to Chelsea in the final four.
