Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern thrash Dortmund while Chelsea suffer 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa.

Chelsea Suffers Another Blow as Aston Villa Secures a Dominant 2-0 Win at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s quest for redemption in the Premier League suffered another major setback on Saturday as Aston Villa outclassed them with a two-goal victory at Stamford Bridge. Ollie Watkins and John McGinn were the heroes for Unai Emery’s side, finding the net in each half of the match.

The defeat has piled more pressure on Chelsea manager Graham Potter, who is under scrutiny to revive the team’s fortunes in the remaining 10 games of the Premier League this season. Chelsea now sit at 11th position, a full 11 points away from the top four.

While the Blues are still in contention in the Champions League, their quarter-final draw with holders Real Madrid seems extremely daunting.

Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager, started his stint with Bayern Munich with a bang, as his new club beat Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund 4-2 at the Allianz Arena to return to the top of the table. Bayern had a comfortable 4-0 lead before two late goals from Dortmund. Tuchel’s sacking in September by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, citing a lack of “shared vision” with the German, is now being viewed in a different light with the team’s current form.

Chelsea fans will hope for a quick turnaround when their team takes on Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture.
