Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici Takes Immediate Leave of Absence Pending Outcome of FIFA Appeal
Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici has taken an immediate leave of absence from his role as the fallout from his global ban continues. Paratici received a 30-month suspension from FIFA in January after his former club Juventus was found guilty of falsifying financial records. FIFA then granted Italy’s Football Association’s request for Paratici to be suspended from all football activity worldwide. Spurs sought urgent clarification over Paratici’s ability to work after FIFA blindsided them with their decision. With Paratici facing an appeal hearing against the FIGC sanctions on 19 April 2023, the club is now considering its next move while Chairman Daniel Levy leads any negotiations with potential managerial candidates.
Tottenham appointed Conte’s assistant, Cristian Stellini, as acting head coach until the end of the season with the club considering a number of candidates as their next permanent manager. The club has ten games left this season and currently occupies fourth place in the Premier League ahead of Monday’s trip to Everton.
