“USA interim coach Anthony Hudson focuses solely on present, not future”

Interim US Coach Anthony Hudson Focused On Short-Term Goals

Anthony Hudson, United States’ interim coach, recently oversaw the team’s astounding 7-1 victory over Grenada in the CONCACAF Nations League. Despite the team’s success, Hudson remains firmly grounded in taking things “a day at a time.” He claimed that he hasn’t given much thought to the full-time coaching position and is merely keeping the seat warm for whoever will take over. Currently topping Group D, the US will take on El Salvador in the group stage finale, and a draw will mean their advancement to CNL semifinals in June.

Hudson mentioned that he’s merely focused on short-term goals and aims to provide a “good experience” for players during their current training camp, where Hudson is leading the team’s first-choice group. His objective is to support them to be their best and win their upcoming matches.

El Salvador, managed by former US international and coach Hugo Perez, will likely give the US a tough match this time. Hudson has high praise for Perez’s coaching abilities, noting that he changes his game strategies often, and his players demonstrate an honest, aggressive attitude and strong work ethic.
