Manchester United Star Victor Lindelof Hints at Potential Departure
Victor Lindelof, the Sweden international, hinted at a potential departure from Old Trafford while speaking to the press after his team the Red Devils were thrashed 3-0 by Belgium on Friday night. Lindelof has played the full 90 minutes in just four of Premier League games this season. Speaking about his future at Manchester United, the center-back said, “Right now, I’m just focusing on the national team and then, of course, the rest of the season with the club. Then in the summer, we’ll re-evaluate and see what is best.”
The signing of Lisandro Martinez saw Lindelof drop out of the side while Harry Maguire has also seen his first-team appearances drop. Raphael Varane has been the preferred partner with Martinez, and it has proved a winning formula with United winning the Carabao Cup already this season. They also have high hopes of lifting the FA Cup and the Europa League in what is shaping up as a very fine debut campaign from Ten Hag in the managerial dugout.
Lindelof made 21 appearances for the Red Devils across the campaign so far but has largely been left on the bench this season – or not even in the squad. The 28-year-old joined United in 2017 from Benfica when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
