Wendie Renard selected in the first French squad following the departure of Corinne Diacre as coach.

France’s coach Herve Renard has named captain Wendie Renard in his first squad after taking over from Corinne Diacre. In February, Wendie Renard had announced that she won’t participate in the World Cup this summer for her mental health sake. However, Herve Renard is focusing on the present and is willing to select Wendie Renard if she performs well with her club. Earlier, Katoto and Diani had also refused to play for France, but now they are injured. Herve Renard was recently appointed as the new France head coach until 2024. France is scheduled to play friendly matches against Colombia & Canada in April.
