Vincent Kompany urged to stay at Burnley by Gabby Agbonlahor
Vincent Kompany has been linked with the vacant managerial role at Tottenham, but former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor believes the former Manchester City captain should stay at Burnley. Kompany has secured Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League and already has experience managing Anderlecht in his home country Belgium.
Agbonlahor believes Kompany should have a go with Burnley and try to shock the Premier League with the right players in the summer. Burnley sit 14 points ahead of Sheffield United with six games to play and have also secured their instant return to the top flight with a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough last Friday.
TalkSPORT understands that Kompany is on the list of Spurs’ managerial targets, but Agbonlahor thinks he would be better off staying with Burnley.
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the Tottenham job, however, he has reportedly rejected a possible return to hold out for the Real Madrid job. Ex-Bayern Munich manager Julien Nagelsmann and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi are also on the speculated list of options for the managerial role.
